Marinade Recipes:
Essential for barbecuing!

I'm so glad I finally found some good marinade recipes! Marinating can turn an ordinary cut of meat into a taste sensation!

marinade recipes

Marinating adds delicious flavor to any meat - and tenderizes it too! If you enjoy barbecuing, you'll be delighted to know that soaking meat in a seasoned liquid before grilling greatly reduces the health risks associated with eating barbecued food.

Be sure to discard the liquid after using. (Since it has been in contact with raw meat, it cannot be used as a sauce.)

Here is a quick, easy and delicious marinade for beef or pork. This makes enough for up to 2 pounds/1 kg of meat.

1/4 cup/60 mL minced onion

1/4 cup/60 mL red wine vinegar

1 Tbsp/15 mL vegetable oil

1 Tbsp/15 mL tamari or soy sauce

2 cloves garlic, pressed

1/2 tsp/2 mL curry powder OR 2 Tbsp/30 mL grated fresh ginger root

Combine all ingredients. Mix well. Pour over meat. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 24 hours. Grill meat as usual.
