Sauce Recipes: Sauces, Dips and Condiments
Having a supply of good sauce recipes is important. Sometimes all you need to transform a meal from "good" to "great" is the right sauce. Sauce can add flavor and visual appeal to your dishes.
Of course, I used to think that sauces came in jars or cans from the grocery store. Once again, I was wrong! The sauces you make yourself are generally tastier, healthier and more economical than those you purchase.
Another advantage of making your own sauces and condiments is that you can make just the amount you need. If you have a supply of sauce recipes, you can have a fresh batch whenever you like!
(I'm sure I'm not the only one who has bought the large economy bottle of mayonnaise because it was on sale - and then ended up pushing it to the back of the fridge and eventually throwing it out! By the way, purchased mayonnaise should be refrigerated, and used within two months of opening the jar - regardless of the "best before" date.)
Fortunately, all of the sauces here are quick and easy to whip up. Most use simple ingredients that you probably have in your kitchen right now.
Many of these sauces require the use of a blender.

My very favorite sauce can be used as a dressing, a marinade or a dip. I love to eat it on salad or on rice. You'll find it in my
