Healthy Dessert Recipes

Welcome to my collection of easy healthy dessert recipes! With these recipes, you can not only enjoy delicious desserts but feel good about indulging in them!

I've always enjoyed eating dessert. However, I am trying to eat healthier foods these days, and so many traditional dessert recipes are full of too much sugar and fat.

Fortunately, I have discovered lots of healthy dessert recipes that are as nutritious as they are delicious. Some of the fruit recipes on this page have no added sweetener at all. Others are flavored with honey or maple syrup.

If a recipe really does require sugar, I've cut down the amount of sugar as much as possible while still retaining the goodness of the original recipe.

Some of these healthy dessert recipes - like Banana Cottage Cheese Tofu Pie - are so nutritious that you could eat them for breakfast!

For sentimental reasons, I've also included some of my favorite not-so-healthy desserts (like Apple Candy Pie). Don't eat these ones regularly; save them for special occasions.

Cake

My easy cake recipes collection includes traditional favorites, like Chocolate Cake and Cheesecake. It also includes a couple of pudding cake recipes that create their own sauce as they bake.

  • Carrot Cake with Pineapple makes a great healthy birthday cake. It's so good - especially if you frost it with cream cheese icing.

  • If you have a blender, you can make Lemon Mousse Cheesecake in less time than you would think possible! The recipe is in "A Day of Blender Recipes".

  • Magic Wizard Cake is the name I give to my maple pudding cake dessert. This is fun to make and good to eat. I like to make this at Halloween.

  • Rhubarb Pudding Cake is as lovely as it is tasty.

  • Here is the best chocolate cake recipe ever! Speediest Chocolate Cake mixes up very quickly. (I can have this cake in the oven in 8 minutes!) There is almost nothing to wash. Most importantly, the cake is moist, delicious and chocolately. This is the only chocolate cake recipe you'll ever need! The recipe is in "Last Minute Desserts", which you'll receive as a free bonus when you buy a set of my cookbooklets.

Pie

I used to be intimidated by pies. I loved to eat them, but didn't think that I could ever make them. (I thought that only really good cooks could make pie crust.) Then two things happened to change all that:

Now I can whip up a pie all by myself - and I often do!

  • Banana Cottage Cheese Tofu Pie tastes like a dessert, but is so full of nutritious ingredients that you could eat it as a main course!

  • Carob Pie is delicious hot or cold. Since it has no pie crust, it takes very little time to make.

  • Cream Cheese Yogurt Pie is a light, refreshing frozen dessert - perfect for a hot summer's day. It's especially delicious topped with fresh or frozen fruit.

  • Mmmmmmm - Sweet Potato Pie! This is a delicious traditional Thanksgiving favorite. It's perfect for any special or not-so-special occasion.

Pudding

Looking for fast and healthy dessert recipes? Pudding is the answer! When I'm in a rush but I really want to have a dessert, I will often make pudding. It's quick and easy and satisfying.

  • Avocado-Carob Pudding is the fastest of all my fast pudding recipes. It sounds a bit odd, but do give it a try. It's delicious! The recipe is in "Last Minute Desserts".

  • Chocolate Pudding is a traditional favorite. A secret ingredient makes this a very speedy dessert.

  • Instant Banana Pudding is another quick and healthy choice. The recipe is in "Last Minute Desserts".

  • For a light, not-too-sweet ending to a meal, try this easy Lemon Pudding.

  • Easy Pumpkin Mousse is a delicious fall dessert. (Actually, since it uses canned pumpkin, you can enjoy this at any time of the year!)

Other

Here are a few healthy dessert recipes that don't fit into any of the standard categories. They have one thing in common, though: they are delicious!

  • Apple Candy Pie was my favorite dessert when I was a child.

  • Apple-Maple Phyllo Tarts look as good as they taste (and they taste great!)

  • Fruit Salad is a nutritious and tasty dessert! You'll find some good fruit salad recipes as well as lots of other Easy Salad Recipes here.

  • "Not Jello" is a favorite with children. Unlike the packaged variety, this has no sugar or artificial ingredients. It's the perfect dessert for someone with a sore throat. The recipe is in "Last Minute Desserts".

  • For a comforting fall or winter treat, choose this wonderful Warm Berry Crisp. You can use whatever fresh or frozen fruit you have on hand.
